The second Vocaloid engine to be released, the Vocaloid2 Engine was released by YAMAHA in 2007. The Vocaloid2 engine utilises a new method of synthesis, making the resulting vocals smoother and more realistic. Vocaloid2 features a new distinctive GUI with more intuitive controls. The musical symbols and terminology featured in the Vocaloid have been removed in favour of a cleaner interface aimed at a wider audience.
